For centuries, humans have, by and large, related to animals as if they were a kind of machine that seems related to us but is somehow bereft of our special human qualities of awareness, reflection, and personal agency. This fiction has allowed people to exploit animals with impunity, to profit from their use, to take them from their natural habitats and press them into service, to serve as food and entertainment delivery systems—all without bothering to understand what it costs the animals to be treated this way.
However, many animals resist, as best as they can, our attempted domination of them. They cannot speak, organize, or form a movement, but individually they can attack, escape, run amok, or refuse to work. And once we open our eyes, we can see what has really been happening when animals fight back.
1. Dogs Trashed Man’s Car.

In an act of revenge, an offended dog trashed a man’s car after he was literally kicked out of his spot while sleeping. He left and came back with his dog friends who proceeded to chew up the car’s fenders and wipers.

If you are familiar with the nature of tigers, you would know that apart from their thick maned head that is as broad as a man’s chest and shoulders, fangs the length of a finger, claws a hybrid of meat hook and stilettos; they also possess an invisible and more lethal weapon- a brilliant and calculating mind. The story of Vladimir Markov, a hunter and a poacher, is an example of how brilliant a tiger can be.
On one fateful day in 1997, Markov managed to shoot and wound a tiger and also stole some of the tiger’s recent kill. The tiger however, was able to escape with a murderous intent in his heart. The tiger was able to find Markov’s hunting cabin in the woods. The man was not home so the tiger went inside and trashed everything that had Markov’s scent. Still not satisfied, he waited at the front door for Markov to arrive. When Markov finally arrived, the tiger killed him, dragged him into the bush and ate him
3. The Fox Who Shot the Hunter.

In the farming region of north-western Belarus, 2011, an unnamed hunter shot a fox from a distance and when he approached the fox to finish it with the butt of his rifle, the animal fiercely resisted. In the scuffle, the wounded fox shot his would be killer by pulling the trigger in the hunter’s gun with his paw.
4. The Tiger’s Grudge.

In 2007, some men named Carlos Sousa Jr, Paul Dhaliwal, and Kulbir Dhaliwal decided to spend their day taunting a Siberian tiger (Tatiana). After they had had their fill of tormenting the tiger, they left completely oblivious to what is to befall them. A few minutes after the men had walked away, Tatiana escaped from her pen (No one knows how she was able to escape her highly enclosed pen) and sought out those particular men ignoring other bystanders. She killed one (Carlos Sousa) and mauled the other two. She was eventually gunned down before she could do more harm.
5. Elephants Destroyed Homes

In 2013, near the village of Matari in Eastern India, a train struck and killed an elephant. The loss of the elephant proved to be too upsetting for members of the deceased herd as they took to disrupting locomotives from passing through the area in their course of mourning. The herd which consisted of 15 elephants, appeared at the scene their friend died for several days and in an obvious display of anger directed at the creatures responsible- humans, took to the surrounding villages with vengeful hearts, destroying many homes and demolished parts of a school.
6. The Chimpanzees’ Revenge

In 2012, there was a six-month old war in eastern Congo which forced the Chimpanzees to leave their territory . They were so embittered and began to see humans as a threat that they took to attacking the villagers in Tongo, killing and injuring many.

In 2011, India, an elephant lashed out in an act of revenge on humans, after her calf was killed by humans. She was separated from her herd after her home was destroyed and was continuously stressed from having to escape and survive occasional human attacks but the final straw for her broke when her calf was killed. Grief-stricken, she went rogue. She killed 17 people before she was finally killed by locals but one thing that was particularly terrifying about this animal was that she didn’t only kill these people, she ate them also. This is particularly unusual because elephants are herbivores and are not known to ever consume flesh.
